If you’re thinking about visiting a number of tourist attractions in Europe there are few better places available than the city of Rome in Italy. Popularly known as the Eternal City, Rome is home to a collection of historical architecture, traditional monuments and breathtaking artwork. Touted as one of the earliest civilizations in the world, the city hosts over 900 churches and is also home to the Vatican – the official residence of the pope and a city unto itself. The city features the largest university in Europe, and has a museum that is solely dedicated to pasta.

Rome has over 200 fountains around the city, with one of the more popular ones being the Trevi Fountain. Legend has it that if you throw a coin into the fountain, you will return to the Eternal City. If you throw two coins into the fountain, you will return to the city and fall in love, and if you throw three coins you will return to the city, fall in love and get married. The preserved ruins in the city and old architecture are considered an extremely significant part of European history, so much so that UNESCO has declared the entire city a world heritage site.  Anyone thinking about a trip to Rome should definitely take the leap as they are guaranteed not to regret it.…
