India as a country is so big that it has a lot of interesting spots that attract people from all over the world. Of the numerous sites worth seeing in India, a significant number of them are located in Delhi, so it’s no surprise that Delhi as a city attracts a whole lot of visitors yearly.
Delhi has many famous religious landmarks, like the Swaminarayan Akshardham and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. Shopping in Delhi is cheap and street food is a way of life.
Visitors are sometimes forced to select from the wide variety of options in Delhi because it’s not always possible to see all major interesting spots in the city in just one vacation.

- The Red Fort – The seat of the Moghul power until 1857
- Qutub Minar – India’s tallest Minar. It now serves as the new UNESCO World Heritage site.
- Lodi Gardens – This lush garden is quite popular amongst the locals and it contains numerous artefacts from the pre-1600s.
- The Lotus Temple – This is an architectural masterpiece. It’s named after the Lotus flower because its design was inspired by the shape and form of the flower. It was built in 1986 and as you would expect from such a structural masterpiece, people from around the world visit Delhi just to see it for themselves.
